Fees

Payment is required in full at the time of the appointment and may be made in cash or using the EFTPOS facilities.

A rebate for part of the fee is usually available through Medicare and we are able to submit the Medicare rebate claim on your behalf at the time of payment. However, in order to receive the Medicare rebate, a referral must have been received from your GP. If your bank details are registered with Medicare, the rebate will usually be paid directly into your account within 24 hours of the transaction.

Please note that appointments are not bulk billed.

Please speak to the receptionist when booking your appointment if you require any further information regarding fees.

An Extended Medicare Safety Net threshold exists to protect families from large medical bills. Once a family has reached the safety net threshold (i.e. total medical expenses for all family members combined), Medicare usually refunds 80% of the gap fees for the remainder of the year. The safety net threshold is set at $2,184.30 for 2021 (this may vary for Concession cardholders and families eligible for FTB Part A, which is $697 for 2021). Please call 132 011 or visit www.medicare.gov.au for further information.

If you are also seeing a psychologist, you should speak to your GP about the Better Access to Mental Health Care Plan which provides you with access to Medicare funds for 10 sessions per year. This does not affect your entitlement to rebates for attending appointments with a psychiatrist.
